Morris Rayne

RSW

Rayna is a clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience providing counseling to children, youth, and adults. She began her career in child welfare at the Children’s Aid Society, where she worked with families navigating complex challenges, including intimate partner conflict, and developed a deep understanding of safety, resilience, and connection. She has lectured at women’s shelters, schools, and the Police College, educating professionals on domestic violence and child protection laws, and guided prospective adoptive parents in child development. Since 2018, Rayna has maintained a private practice, working with individuals, couples, and families experiencing trauma, relational challenges, and major life transitions. Her approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed, grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens when people feel safe, understood, and supported. She integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). In her practice, Rayna creates a warm, non-judgmental environment where clients can share their experiences, strengthen emotional awareness, and develop healthier thought patterns and stronger coping strategies. She helps clients gain insight into how trauma affects their daily lives while building practical tools for change. She is known for her approachable, thoughtful style and her ability to help clients feel at ease while working through difficult experiences. Rayna specializes in addressing intimate partner conflict, anxiety, depression, anger management, unresolved conflict, work-related stress, parent-child conflict, family relationship challenges, and grief and loss. She works with children struggling with self-regulation or coping with parental separation. Rayna believes in a strong, collaborative, client-centered approach, where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change in their lives. Through her approach, clients reduce stress, develop adaptive coping strategies, build resilience, strengthen relationships, and move toward more balanced and meaningful lives. Rayna holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto (1996), specializing in individual and family therapy. She also earned a Bachelor of Social Work (1993) with a focus on children’s development, a Bachelor of Education (1995), and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (1991), all from York University. Rayna is a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
